www.ouh.nhs.uk/news/videos/HIFU.aspx - A link to a UK Centre at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford where treatment with High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is available for cancers of the Kidney. An Ultrasound Scanner (similar to an MRI scanner) is used for imaging.

www.insightec.com - a company that makes High Intensity Focused Ultrasound equipment that is used in conjunction with an MRI scanner. Their website provides information on their system for the treatment of Uterine Fibroids and cancers.

www.hifu-planet.co.uk & www.ukhifu.com– These organisations provide information on prostate cancer and centres in the UK (and abroad) where High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is available for prostate cancer treatment. At present treatment is given in the UK via a rectal probe (the probe images the cancer and also delivers the High Intensity Focused Ultrasound beam to ablate (remove) the cancer). Note: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is not always recommended in the first instance but is used for the treatment of prostate cancer that has come back after other treatments have failed e.g. radiotherapy, surgery (this is sometimes called salvage treatment).

Complementary Therapy websites have much information on problems associated with the intestine and bowel (the bowel is also known as the colon and large intestine). You could try looking at Association of Registered Colonic Hydrotherapists (ARCH).
